Sourcing Manager - Private Label

As a Sourcing Manager for Spreetail’s Private Brands, you will lead the sourcing strategies and utilize Spreetail’s sourcing tools in support of new product introductions. You will monitor new products available on the market and analyze new sources of supply that will satisfy project requirements and reduce costs.

You will create and develop global and comprehensive supplier contractual/strategic relationships and utilize sourcing strategies as appropriate. Drive supplier selection, development, and overall supplier management as well as strategic technology partners.

As a Sourcing Manager, you will: 

  • Partner with Spreetail’s Private Brand teams to review product specs and recommend sources that can meet volume, quality, and cost requirements.
  • Prepare requests for quotation and use the competitive bid process to solicit capable sources of supply including freight, discounts, rebates, terms
  • Review proposals and negotiate with supply base for best quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Understand strategies and proactively drive initiatives to meet sourcing objectives
  • Schedule and lead supplier meetings to review development projects and in-line plans for full product lifecycle planning.
  • Develop sourcing and operations strategy through management of suppliers, analyzing costs, negotiations supplier partnerships and identifying new opportunities for assigned categories.  
  • Research and identify qualified suppliers of high-quality goods and develop high impact strategic supplier relationships.
  • Responsible for negotiating and maintaining supplier contracts and terms to meet pricing and margin requirements.  
  • Develop sourcing opportunities that improve cost, lead times, working capital and payment terms.
  • Analyze and calculate costs of procurement and identify methods to decrease costs expenditures.
  • Maintain product compliance and work with product development team to ensure factories meet product quality metrics.
  • Oversee and participate as the liaison with other departments regarding technical product changes/problems, required adjustments, and future strategic objectives.
  • Deliver cost savings targets and supplier mix strategies.

You should have: 

  • 4+ years of relevant product sourcing of consumer goods, preferably in hard lines
  • Knowledge of global component and commodity supply chain
  • Managing supplier relationships and negotiating contracts
  • Working with international companies & collaborating with cross-cultural differences
  • Strong understanding of product development and QC
  • Basic understanding of freight forwarding, import, and duties
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (MS Project experience a plus)
  • Able to travel for factory audits both domestically and internationally, company events, etc.; travel is domestic, with rare international travel.
